- Local Storage allows the App to store data on your mobile device (like your “saved jobs”) so it loads faster next time.
- SDKs (Software Development Kits) are blocks of code provided by our partners (like Google or Stripe) that are embedded in our App to help it function (e.g., to display maps or process payments).
2. How We Use These Technologies
We use these technologies for specific reasons, categorised below:
A. Strictly Necessary (Essential)
These are required for the App to function. We cannot turn these off.
- Authentication: Remembering that you are logged in so you don’t have to enter your password on every screen.
- Security: Detecting malicious activity or protecting your data during payment processing.
- Core Features: ensuring the “Apply Now” button connects your CV to the correct Employer.
B. Functionality & Preferences
These allow the App to remember choices you make.
- Remembering your search filters (e.g., “Part-time jobs in Greenock”).
- Storing your “Saved Jobs” list on your device.
C. Analytics & Performance
These help us understand how the App is being used so we can improve it.
- Crash Reporting: Helping us identify bugs if the App crashes.
- Usage Stats: Seeing which job categories are most popular or how many users view a specific job posting. (This data is aggregated and anonymised).
3. Third-Party Technologies
We may use trusted third-party services within our App. These providers may access data associated with your device. Currently, we may use:
- Google Analytics / Firebase: To analyse App usage and crash reports.
- Google Maps: To show job locations.
- Stripe / Payment Providers: To securely process Employer payments.
These third parties have their own privacy policies addressing how they use such information.
4. Managing Your Preferences
Unlike websites, mobile apps do not always use a browser-based cookie management tool. However, you can control tracking in the following ways:
- Device Settings (iOS): Go to Settings > Privacy > Tracking. You can toggle “Allow Apps to Request to Track” to off.
- Device Settings (Android): Go to Settings > Privacy > Ads and select “Delete advertising ID” or “Opt out of Ads Personalisation.”
- Uninstalling: You can stop all collection of information by the App by uninstalling it using the standard uninstall process for your device.
5. Updates to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the App or via email.
